The Clerk's Office has genealogy section located in the Deed Room on the first floor of the Courthouse. Records available online include:

Burnt Deed Books and Indexes 1778-1867 Indexes are available using the Historical Index Search. You can enter the book/page on the bottom left of the Historical Index page or under the Genealogy filter. Images are free to view. 
Birth Records 1862-1894, 1912-1917 - may not include all birth during these times periods.  Free to search and view on our Secure Remote Access under the Genealogy filter. Additional years may be available via Virginia Department of Health search
Death Records 1870-1894, 1912-1917 - may not include every death during these time periods Free to search and view on our Secure Remote Access under the Genealogy filter. Additional years may be available via Virginia Department of Health search
